Recycling

The following tables lists the materials we use to make and package our products. Please use this table and refer to your local recycling information to ensure you are disposing of any materials in a responsible manner.

Recyclable materials may have the following recycling triangle and Logo Code marked on them.

WEEE

Consumer Electronic Waste Recycling

Our products are designed with longevity in mind, and even when one customer no longer needs it there is always the second hand market allowing the product to have another life. However, should you need to dispose of your product, please add this to electrical waste collections rather than general waste so the valuable raw materials can be recovered and recycled appropriately.

Product

Lithium Ion Battery

WEEE (w/o bar)

Consumer Electronic Waste Recycling

Batteries must never be disposed of with household waste, only through electronic or battery waste or recycling schemes.

Internal Battery

Silica Gel

7 (Other)

General Waste Collection

Silica Gel is used to prevent moisture damage to products, but is difficult to recycle. We are in the process of switching over to Clay Dessicants as a result.

Internal Dessicant

Copper Staples

40 (FE)

Metal Collection

Staples are an effective way of sealing very large product boxes without requiring an additional layer of cardboard. Used only in small quantities, the metal is easily recovered and recycled.

Box Closing Staples

Steel Staples

Box Closing Staples

Cardboard (Corrugated Fibreboard)

20 (PAP)

Paper Collection

Cardboard and paper can be sourced sustainably and recycled easily. We are shifting over to recycled cardboard where available.

Outer Cartons, Product Giftboxes

Cardboard (Corrugated Fibreboard) with Coatings

81 (C/PAP)

Paper Collection

Plastic coated cardboard can normally be recycled through the same route as un-coated cardboard. We are aiming to remove plastic coatings and shifting over to recycled cardboard where available.

Product Giftboxes

Paper

22 (PAP)

Paper Collection

Cardboard and paper can be sourced sustainably and recycled easily. We are shifting over to recycled cardboard where available.

Safety Sheets, Getting Started Guides

Paperboard (Non-Corrugated Fibreboard)

21 (PAP)

Paper Collection

Cardboard and paper can be sourced sustainably and recycled easily. We are shifting over to recycled cardboard where available.

Paper Pulp Tray

Paperboard

23 (PPB)

Paper Collection

Ancilliary Boxes, Card Sleeves

Bio-Based Polypropylene

5 (PP-E)

Plastic Collection

Plastic foams are effective at absorbing transit shocks, but are usually manufactured using fossil fuels. Bio-Based plastic reduce the demand for fossil fuel plastics, and are a effective in places where paper pulp is not a viable alternative.

Internal Foam Padding

Polyethylene Bags and Polyethylene Foam (Low- density polyethylene)

4 (PE-LD)

Plastic Collection

Polyethylene bags are used to protect products in transit. We are planning to move away from these as they are not biodegradable.

Product Bag

Polyethylene Foam

4 (PE-LD)

Plastic Recycling (Check Locally if this is accepted)

Polyethylene foam is especially effective at absorbing transit shocks, but is not easily recycled so where possible we are now replacing with biodegradable alternatives such as moulded pulp trays, made from recycled paper pulp.

Internal Foam Padding

Cotton Bag

60 (TEX)

Textile Recycling

Cotton is used as an alternative to plastic bags for preventing damage to large products in transit, and is completely biodegradable within a matter of months.

Product Bag

Wood

50 (FOR)

Wood Recycling

We take care to source our wood from sustainable sources, and it is a core material to our products, useful for a range of structural elements while also being lightweight, strong and fundamentally renewable. The primary recycling route for wood is reuse, either directly or by converting into another form factor such as MDF.
