MITIGATING CORONAVIRUS BUSINESS IMPACT
As the world continues to grapple with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), our first thoughts are naturally with employees, customers, partners and suppliers that are waking up to increasingly challenging conditions.
Martin Audio is continually assessing local and international conditions, taking advice from experts and adjusting policy and strategy as a result.
What follows is a breakdown of commercial aspects of Martin Audio that are affected and not affected by current conditions.
Manufacturing and Supply
China
China suppliers have started to return to some sort of normality but the supply of goods is not as free flowing as before the outbreak. Fortunately, Martin Audio had made provision ahead of Chinese New Year on additional stocks and supplies which has meant that only newly announced product has been affected by the outbreak, and as a consequence we have good stocks of ADORN on-wall loudspeakers, BlacklineX, BlacklineX Powered and our existing ceiling range.
Italy
The situation overnight in Italy is of concern given the country is a key supplier of drivers and as such is inevitably affected by the lockdown. That being said we have trucks arriving to pick up pre-ordered drivers today. In addition, we have finished product and some additional drivers on hand in our UK plant, but we are naturally assessing the impact ongoing.
Electronics
Currently, we do not have any supply constraints in regards to our VIA or iKON amplifiers, but we are experiencing some supply issues with the DX0.5 controller.
Shipment Depots
Our US and European supply depots are all currently running as normal with reasonable levels of stock across much of the portfolio. Should conditions change, however, in say a similar way to Italy, then our ability to supply from available stock may inevitably be impacted.
Advice to customers
As with all things, we recommend that customers get in touch with us as soon as possible in regards to their demand and order requirements, considering - if necessary - bringing forward orders while we still have capacity and certainty to both manufacture and supply.
Prolight and Sound, Frankfurt
The rearranged dates of late May were not considered a viable option for Martin Audio and its partners and so we will not be attending the show in Frankfurt.
UK Open Days
We are regularly monitoring the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19 and currently intend to proceed with our UK Open Days. Hand sanitisers will be available on site throughout the event and readily available to all attendees. Should the current government advice change and affect the event taking place, we will of course update you as soon as possible. UK and US Training Workshops
Similar to our Open Days we have every intention to follow through with our Training Workshops. We will continue to monitor the situation.
PLASA Focus, Leeds
