MARTIN AUDIO AT PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS TO CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS FOUNDATION
Washington, DC––In the last month, President Obama spoke to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's annual legislative conference at the Washington Convention Center with local production company Event Tech providing sound and staging.
The event attracted over 10,000 people for the Prayer Breakfast and Awards Dinner with a performance by Grammy Award-winning Gospel singer Yolanda Adams during the Prayer Breakfast. And Phoenix awards were presented to Danny Glover, Wyclef Jean and U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Dr. Susan Elizabeth Rice during the awards dinner.
President Obama's passionate keynote address focused on health care and was covered on all major media outlets. Event Tech, a 28-year old full production services rental company based in Baltimore, has provided audio for this event for three years running. Their crew included Brian Linnemann (FOH A1) Bryan Laffin (Monitor A1) and Josh Sorg (System tech/RF Tech).
Event Tech had recently purchased 24 Martin Audio LE1500 wedge monitors and were using for the first time at the conference along with a Yamaha PM5D-RH for house and monitors, Crown Macrotech/ I-Tech 8000 amplification and BSS System processing.
Asked about the choice of Martin Audio, Event Tech VP of Sales & Marketing Mike Aug explained, 'in terms of a monitor system, we chose to purchase the Martin LE1500s because of the tonal quality, manufacturer and model reputation, and aesthetics.
Monitor Engineer Bryan Laffin commented, 'The Martin wedges offer plenty of punch. Great coverage.' And FOH engineer Brian Linnemann added, 'It's nice to have a monitor in our arsenal that offers exceptional audio coverage and clarity without compromising sightlines.'
