MARTIN AUDIO MAKES IT TWO AWARDS ON THE BOUNCE
Engineer 818 emulates OmniLine as InAVation Awards winner
Martin Audio enjoyed success for the second year running at the prestigious Technology InAVation Award 09 gala dinner at the Hotel Okura, Amsterdam, this month.
Hosted by leading integration title, InAVate, on the eve of this year's ISE Show in Amsterdam, the Engineer 818 was voted Most InAVative Audio Product for Commercial Use (Non Loudspeaker). This followed the success of last year, when Martin Audio's groundbreaking OmniLine micro-line array was voted Most InAVative Loudspeaker Product for Commercial Use.
Simon Bull, Martin Audio Director of Sales, and Peter Child, Applications Engineer, were on hand to pick up the award from Vincenzo Ametrano, Director of category sponsor, Connessioni.
The Awards were open to all global AV technology manufacturers who had released product made commercially available throughout the EMEA market place within the 2008 calendar year.
Said InAVate editor, Chris Fitzsimmons, 'Over 180 products were entered into this year's awards programme. The 66 finalists within the 11 categories generated over 12,000 individual industry votes in just eight weeks to decide on the winners.
'The Engineer delivers power for the system integrator as well as simplified control for the end user. In the eyes of the judges, a combination of good processing power, some unique and innovative DSP algorithms and well thought-out additional features (such as the scheduling, which would normally be reserved for more costly or complex solutions) made this product a strong finalist.'
Aside from the device's advanced management attributes and comprehensive DSDP/routing functionality, the Engineer features the BassCreator and Engineer algorithms. These unique, innovative functions offer solutions to some of the most common operational and environmental problems encountered in audio system design.
Said Simon Bull, 'We have had a tremendous market reaction to the Engineer from high-level installers who see the advantages of replacing the human interface with an intuitive device that will 'think' for them. Aside from the standard 8 x 8 routing matrix, 8-band full parametric on each channel and speaker protection limiters on each output, the presence of unique 'human based' Engineer and BassCreator algorithms ensures automatic tonal and level control, to compensate for variations in programme sources, as well as the elimination of sub-frequency noise pollution.'
