VERSATILE MARTIN AUDIO OFFERS FLEXIBLE CONTROL AT

The Brenngold Company has opened the latest in its successful restaurant series - within the white Gehry building of Düsseldorf's MediaHarbour. To complement the excellent cuisine, Jörg Sandmann, supervisor of the Düsseldorf-based atlantic audio, has installed an inventive and multifunctional pro audio and lighting system, including Martin Audio's stylish AQ architectural range.

'We had to perform the task of fulfilling the special demands of the Gehry´s target group while meeting the demands of our client with simple and flexible audio and lighting control,' said Sandmann. He said that the excellent results produced by their concept in nearby Meerbar and BUG had persuaded the Brenngold team to invest in durable audio and lighting fixtures.

Thus the system has been constructed around four Martin Audio WTUB compact theatre enclosures (and pair of AQ210 subwoofers) in the 60-seat bar smoking area. In the 90-cover restaurant are eight Martin Audio AQ5 ultra-compact installation speakers (and pair of AQ112 subwoofers), while four C4.8T ceiling speakers relay the sound to the peripheral areas and toilets.

Jörg Sandmann explains. 'This gives the operational team options with their sound reinforcement coverage - whether operating in live music mode or a prospective outdoor playback; they can actively influence the mood in the restaurant.'

The Martin Audio system is managed by a central, digital matrix that can individually control the different restaurant and bar zones. Whether needed for background sound in the restaurant, prominent club/dance sound or live music at the bar and in the entrance – the sound thresholds are programmed to the time of day and location in the restaurant.

For example, the band on the opening night benefited from the Martin Audio house system and could perform without any further PA, sending their feed directly to the matrix in the DJ booth.

Michael Krüper, Brenngold's marketing manager, adds, 'The Gehry's has its own style of music and we have a vast playlist saved on the music server.

'atlantic audio has installed the sound system so comprehensively that we can also provide coverage everywhere - including the outdoor terrace.'
