WAVEFRONT AUDIO CHOOSE MLA MINI FOR SALVATION ARMY
The New Zealand chapter of the Salvation Army recently opened their new head office facilities in Auckland, New Zealand. The venue is a purpose built facility with two dedicated chapels/auditoriums plus a range of multi-purpose rooms.
Auckland based Martin Audio installer and integrator, Wavefront Audio was chosen to complete the complex multi-zone venue installation complete with video displays and multi room audio capabilities. The design threw up some challenging room acoustic considerations that needed a solution.
From the outset the obvious solution for the largest "Auckland Corps" auditorium was the Martin Audio MLA Mini. It fitted with the design brief by providing an even coverage over the entire seated area whilst being very compact and discreet in size. It helped overcome some of the room acoustic challenges by directing the sound to the audience area rather than the back walls and ceiling. "The MLA "Display" software allowed us to steer the sound away from the problem areas whilst still maintaining superb audience coverage and superior fidelity, all at high SPL's if required" says Andrew Clelland, Director of Wavefront Audio.
The main stage monitoring is also by Martin Audio and the venue is complimented by other Martin Audio systems all driven by BSS Soundweb. The adjacent Korean Corps auditorium has a compliment of WT3 and S18 main system with Martin Audio AQ5, C4.8T and VDQ all in various duties around the venue.
