MAJ LAUNCHES LATEST MARTIN AUDIO PRODUCTS IN TOKYO

Martin Audio Japan Inc recently launched the British manufacturer's latest range of products at the Nakano Zero Theatre in Tokyo. This was the first territorial exposé of the new suite which received its global premier earlier this year at Frankfurt's Prolight+Sound Show to widespread acclaim.

Supporting the Tokyo event was Martin Audio R&D Director, Jason Baird. He first introduced the LE and XE floor monitors before turning to the Wavefront Precision WPM and WPC line arrays after the intermission.

Developed in consultation with leading monitor engineers and combining sleek, low-profile enclosures with unique Coaxial Differential Dispersion technology, the XE300 (1 x 12' LF) and XE500 (1 x 15' LF) are designed to deliver perfect monitor sound with a defined coverage pattern that allows the artist freedom of movement, while reducing overlap with adjacent monitors. The LE100 (1 x 12' LF') and the LE200 (1 x 15' LF) bring engineering innovation to everyday stage monitoring - delivering exceptional performance at an unbelievable price point.

Both the WPC (2 x 10' LF) and WPM (2 x 6.5' LF), are designed as complete line array systems with the newly announced external iKON® multi-channel amplifiers optimised by Martin Audio's automated DISPLAY software.

Since Nakano Zero is a theatre-style venue, after the explanation of each product attendees were invited onto the stage to test the systems via microphone as they walked around the stage. This provided a rare opportunity to hear all the new wedge speakers alongside each other and to test the different characteristics. After continual listening visitors expressed their surprise at the extent of coverage and powerful SPL, particularly in respect of the XE range.

The WPC and WPM were also reviewed at balcony level (and under balcony) to confirm the optimisation results. MAJ offers a ground stack system for both line array speakers, purpose designed by the Martin Audio R&D department, as this is a popular configuration in Japan.

Following the event, many potential customers lined up to discuss their project requirements with both Jason Baird and the MAJ sales team, and to ask further questions. The event was therefore deemed a complete success and MAJ expressed their gratitude to the Martin Audio R&D Director for the strong support.

MAJ is now planning further launch opportunities around Japan in the coming month, with a follow-up presentation at the Inter BEE 2017 exhibition, at the Makuhari Messe in November.
