WPC – Medium-Format Power with Authority

WPC is a medium-format, three-way bi-amped line array that delivers premium Wavefront Precision performance to a wider range of users, applications and budgets. Sitting at the heart of the series, WPC combines innovative horn-loaded acoustics, excellent output-to-weight ratio, and scalable resolution optimisation to give rental partners and integrators a system that punches far above its footprint.

From Q2 2026, WPC systems are designed to withstand tougher environmental conditions, feature LED circuit visibility, and enjoy blazing-fast DISPLAY 3 optimisation software with enhanced LF control.

Designed for tours, festivals, live venues, sports grounds, and large-scale corporate or House of Worship installations, WPC offers the control, consistency and projection normally associated with larger systems — but with the truck space, weight and budget profile of a compact array.

With a peak output of 135 dB (141 dB with crest factor 4) and the ability for a 12-box hang to project over 60 metres (200 ft) while delivering full rock-and-roll levels to a 5,000-seat audience, WPC is the definition of medium-format done right.

If fidelity, precision and ROI matters, this is the moment to choose WPC.

Hybrid® LF – Surprising Depth and Punch from a Compact Footprint

WPC’s low-frequency section uses 2 × 10” neodymium drivers in a Hybrid® configuration, which marries the benefits of horn and reflex loading. Each driver is slot-loaded into a short horn to give a high sensitivity, while the rear of the driver is reflex-loaded to extend the LF output.

Key benefits:

  • Horn loading provides high sensitivity and long-throw projection
  • Reflex loading extends the LF response well below what enclosure size would suggest
  • The combination yields impressive, chesty impact from a compact cabinet
  • Improved LF control compared to direct radiator designs common at this size

This makes WPC particularly effective for audience areas requiring low-frequency consistency over distance — without relying solely on sub arrays to carry the weight.

Independent Mid & HF Horns – Precision Through Separation

A hallmark of WPC’s acoustic architecture is its physically separate mid and HF horn assemblies, designed to maintain exceptionally stable horizontal pattern control.

Midrange Section

Using 2 × 5” neodymium drivers on a dedicated horn, the mid-section delivers:

  • High output with minimal distortion
  • Smooth reproduction of the vocal band
  • Robust 100° constant directivity across the critical midrange

The result is unmistakable: smooth, powerful, and highly intelligible vocals that carry effortlessly across vast audience areas.

High Frequency Section

The HF system uses 4 × 0.7” exit neodymium compression drivers, each feeding its own horn. Compared to a single large-format compression driver, this multi-driver approach provides:

  • Lower distortion in the most sensitive part of human hearing
  • A more open, detailed and extended top end
  • Improved summation and line-array behaviour
  • Consistency at high SPL without harshness

Together, the independent horn-loaded MF and HF sections contribute to WPC’s signature clarity, control and musicality.

Upgraded Build for Touring & Install Toughness

From Q2 2026, WPC enclosures feature improved construction methods, improved paint and improved metalwork to make them more hardwearing.

  • IP rating of IP54
  • Corrosion resistance
  • High heat, cold temperature and humidity protection
  • UV stability protection

Ideal for festivals, touring cycles, stadium installs, and environments where reliability is non-negotiable.

Scalable Resolution: Flexible Control, Coverage and Consistency

Wavefront Precision systems adopt a unique principle of control, coverage and consistency you can scale on your terms.

Using external iKON multi-channel amplifiers, each array can be deployed at different resolution levels. More amplifier channels equal more individually driven enclosures — and that unlocks finer optimisation, tighter SPL consistency, and more accurate room control through DISPLAY.

Even at lower resolution the acoustic design delivers exceptional performance. But scalable resolution means you can:

  • Match system design to budget targets without compromising audio quality
  • Upgrade resolution over time, simply by adding amplifiers
  • Dynamic deployment within a venue or site, with the main PA at higher resolution and delays or outfills at lower resolution

It’s performance made flexible, predictable, and financially accessible.

DISPLAY 3 Optimisation: Faster with Higher Precision

From Q2 2026, Wavefront Precision systems integrate seamlessly with DISPLAY 3, Martin Audio’s new-generation 3D optimisation software — 27,000× faster than DISPLAY 2 and accurate to within ±1 dB of measured performance.

Through a combination of mechanical angle optimisation and advanced DSP filtering, DISPLAY 3 software:

  • Optimises the sound to meet SPL and frequency response target goals set by the user, by determining the necessary configuration and output of the array to produce that result.
  • Assesses and minimises influence of non-audience areas within a venue or space, while simultaneously maximising sound coverage and consistency for the audience area, increasing clarity and intelligibility.
  • Delivers improved control of low frequency that is meaningful in itself, and also open doors to increased flexibility of line length.
  • Utilises Hard Avoid® feature to intelligently avoid audio reflections of problem surfaces like ceilings or balcony edges or significantly reduces sound in a given area like below or behind an array, or beyond an audience zone for mitigating noise pollution, by up to 30dB.

Getting fast and accurate results for a complete system with the freedom to quickly refine ensures optimal sound system deployment for every venue.

Array DSP parameters calculated by DISPLAY are easily uploaded to the iKON amplifiers via Ethernet, using Martin Audio’s VU-NET™ real-time control and monitoring software.

Amplification, DSP & Networking: Built as a Complete System

Wavefront Precision line arrays are designed as complete systems with dedicated, high-performance iKON multi-channel Class D amplifiers, capable of very high power outputs and feature high-speed Ethernet communication for system control and monitoring via VU-NET, plus Dante™ digital audio networking.

With the option to transmit digital audio over a single CAT5 cable, quality is maintained over long cable runs and integration with other devices in the sound system is straightforward.

Furthermore, from Q2 2026, every Wavefront Precision enclosure is now smarter as they feature an LED indicator that can be illuminated via VU-NET software to identify its circuit location.

iKON amps provide powerful DSP processing of up to 1000 FIR filter taps @ 48kHz on each output channel. This high number of taps is essential to implement DISPLAY’S wide bandwidth optimisation capabilities.

The complete system approach not only guarantees that Wavefront Precision arrays perform repeatedly and effortlessly to their design maximum, but also that they are compatible worldwide.

WPC – The New Standard in Medium-Format Line Arrays

WPC provides a rare combination of:

  • Large-format performance
  • Medium-format transport economics
  • DISPLAY driven optimisation with scalable resolution
  • Outstanding pattern control
  • Future-proof durability

It's the dependable “go-to” system for rental partners and integrators who need versatility without compromise — and the perfect complement to the wider Wavefront Precision ecosystem.
