The acoustic properties of the hotel ballroom combined with the event’s weight and rigging restrictions - yet with the need for uniform coverage - posed considerable challenges.

The biggest challenge was for the PA to be able to could throw at least 30m (100 ft.) for the mains and 21m (70 ft.) in the centre, with the control needed to keep sound off of the stage as much as possible because of the presenters and the concert night entertainment.

Given the weight restrictions and rigging issues faced, combined with necessary control the only PA that made sense was Martin Audio’s WPC system.

The actual system included two clusters of eight Martin Audio WPC for left and right mains plus four centre-flown clusters of four WPM for centre and front fill coverage.
