100-PLUS MARTIN AUDIO COMPONENTS CREATE HIGH OCTANE SOUND FOR ASIA’S LARGEST NIGHTCLUB
Set on three levels spanning 50,000 sq ft, Hyderabad’s new 5,000-cap Quake Arena has become Asia’s largest nightlife destination, and a new entry on the list of DJ’s Top 100 Clubs, 2025.
Owned and operated by Jupally Rameswar Rao’s My Home Group, among its cornucopia of technology—which includes 13,000 sq. ft of LED displays—potent sound is distributed across the enormous space via more than 100 Martin Audio speakers, the centrepiece of which is a Wavefront Precision (WPC) scalable and fully-optimised line array.
Already world-renowned artists, including leading European DJs Ben Böhmer and Afrojack, have delivered high energy events through it, relying on 20 of Martin Audio’s sonically off-the-scale SX218 subwoofers to create the necessary low-frequency rumble. And if this doesn’t rock audiences, 1,000 lighting fixtures and a 12W laser show further rearrange the senses. Thus Quake Arena has completely redefined the nightlife landscape in the Telangana city.
Quake Arena director Raja Srikar acknowledges precisely that. “The installation has completely transformed our venue into a sonic powerhouse,” he says. “Every beat and note resonates with unmatched clarity and impact, leaving our guests amazed. The team’s attention to detail and expertise made all the difference in creating this electrifying audio experience."
Quake Arena showcases the best of pro audio innovation.
His co-director Kunal Kukreja, agrees, adding, “At Quake Arena, we envisioned a space that would redefine nightlife experiences, and the sound system has truly brought that vision to life. The clarity, depth and power of the audio are remarkable, creating an atmosphere that keeps our guests coming back for more. It’s an investment that has elevated our club to the next level."
This is largely due to the wall of sound created by eight elements a side of WPC line array, driven in 2-box resolution from Martin Audio’s iKON DSP multi-channel amplifiers. But it’s not only about these heavy hitters. Lining up to ensure a seamless, coherent delivery throughout the upper mezzanine level and VIP lounges as well are the popular CDD12B and CDD10B coaxial differential dispersion loudspeakers.
DJs and performers are also rewarded with additional SX118 subwoofers and LE100 monitors for their reference sound.
Aside from the iK42 and iK81 amplifiers, dedicated DX4.0 processors add real-time processing and precision control over the system. This high-performance electronics backbone guarantees stability, headroom, and optimal audio tuning for every event—a high-impact audio environment that the city’s dance clientele would be experiencing for the first time.
The guiding hand behind such creativity was sound consultant Abhimanyu Chopra from Chopra Designs. "Designing the audio experience for Quake Arena was both an exciting challenge and a rewarding achievement,” he says. “With its immense scale and high-energy requirements, the goal was to create a system that delivers precision, clarity and impact across all three levels. The Martin Audio system ensures seamless coverage and deep, resonant bass that truly immerses the audience."
All the equipment was supplied by VMT, Martin Audio’s Indian distributor, for whom their Pre-Design and Sales Engineer, Sai Prem, notes, “The installation at Quake Arena reflects the perfect synergy of advanced technology and strategic design. Every component has been carefully tailored to ensure precise sound delivery, powerful bass, and uniform coverage.”
The final word comes from VMT director, Jeff Mandot: “Quake Arena showcases the best of pro audio innovation. With Martin Audio at its core, the sound is powerful and precise. This installation defines what world-class audio should be.”
