GRAN DAVID PRODUCCIONES UPGRADES MARTIN AUDIO INVENTORY WITH WPC WAVEFRONT PRECISION SYSTEM
Gran David Producciones, one of Colombia’s most prominent rental companies, has significantly enhanced its audio capabilities by upgrading to the Martin Audio WPC Wavefront Precision system.
For years, Gran David Producciones has been a dedicated user of legacy Martin Audio technology, maintaining a reliable inventory of WL8C cabinets and S218+ subwoofers. However, as the scale and demand of their productions continued to grow, the team recognised the need for a modern solution.
Given their long-standing success with the brand and their strong relationship with Martin’s Colombian distributor AVCOM, supported in the region by Proactive LATAM Technical Hub, transitioning to the latest generation WPC system was a natural evolution.

Following rigorous testing, the Gran David Producciones team duly invested in a comprehensive system featuring 20 x Martin Audio WPC cabinets, powered by 5 x iKON IK42 amplifiers.
The Martin Audio WPC (Wavefront Precision Compact) is a new generation of multipurpose line array designed to bring high-density output and consistent coverage to medium-to-large scale applications. As a three-way, bi-amp system, it features 2 x 10” low-frequency drivers, 2 x 5” mid-range drivers, and 4 x 1” high-frequency compression drivers.
The upgrade has delivered immediate operational and acoustic benefits. The WPC system is faster to rig and set up, with significantly simplified cabling requirements. Furthermore, the new configuration is more efficient, requiring fewer amplifiers and consuming less power than its predecessor.
Sonically, Gran David Producciones reports that the WPC system vastly outperforms their legacy gear. It provides superior coverage, higher SPL, and markedly improved high-frequency definition.
The system has already been successfully deployed for a variety of high-profile events featuring artists such as Yeison Jiménez, Grupo Niche, Elder Dayán, Heber Vargas, and La 33.
