Architectural Specifications

The loudspeaker shall be a vertically-arrayable, two-way system powered by a dedicated external power module. Its transducers shall consist of two 6.5” low frequency drivers and three 1.4” dome high frequency drivers coupled to a constant directivity horn. The drivers shall be configured to be driven as one low-frequency cell and one high-frequency cell.

The loudspeaker shall be driven by an external dedicated power module, normally housed in a companion subwoofer. The module shall incorporate nine channels of Class D amplification and DSP to drive the subwoofer and the low and high-frequency cells of four loudspeakers. Connection to the loudspeaker shall be made by an NL4 connector.

The loudspeaker shall have 100° horizontal dispersion and 10° vertical dispersion. Vertical dispersion of the complete array shall be determined by a combination of the splay angles between adjacent enclosures and dedicated array control software. The on-axis frequency response shall be 76Hz-18kHz +/- 3dB and the loudspeaker shall produce a maximum SPL of 130dB peak (LF), 132dB peak (HF) at 1 metre.

The loudspeaker enclosure shall be constructed from ABS structural foam with a textured black coating. The drivers shall be protected by a perforated steel grille and the enclosure shall incorporate an integral rigging system to assemble an array of up to 16 enclosures suspended from a dedicated flying frame.

Dimensions including flyware (W x H x D) shall be 500mm x 210mm x 377mm (19.7in x 8.3in x 14.8in). Weight shall be 13.8kg (30.4lbs).

The loudspeaker shall be the Martin Audio MLA Mini.
